MINDER 057 - COLVIN CRUICKSHANK
I first met Colvin on a lazy Sunday when browsing through the vinyl racks in Underground Solu'shn when Andy and himself consulted me on potential band names some of which were great some of which were not so good. Then two weeks later unaware that I had been having an email conversation with the same Colvin I was talking to that day, I met him at the Wee Red Bar as we were beginning to organise our first club night at his great wee venue that he runs at Edinburgh Art School.
A self proclaimed non-musician, ideas man and record collector, Colvin aka Vinnie has dabbled in a variety of projects over the years and continues to do so. His latest group Snide Rhythms released their second album in November 2014 on False Promise label. They are currently writing and planning new material to be released in 2016.
He is also one half of Edinburgh based electronic duos Thinktank and Transparent Source and 2016 will see the release of unheard material from the Atari ST Cubase archives as Vinnie & The Leph with a limited edition 10" release.
We asked Colvin recently if he would like to contribute a guest mix for us and he has duly delivered with an absolute gem. The mix covers a wide variety of electronic music from across the spectrum (see the tracklist below) and is well worth a listen, hope you enjoy.
